The pole is a little flimsy when extended and takes a bit to get used to. Both attachments cut very well. Right now it doesn’t turn, just hums. Hopefully just needs some oil.

Pole saw stopped working. Beware of DEWALT’s Warranty. It EXCLUDES packaging costs to return their defective product. At their request, I returned their defective pole saw (no power). I requested reimbursement for the packaging costs to ship it and was refused.

I picked up this set to use on a large property I maintain for a elderly couple . The unit itself is nice and works well and I would recommend for anyone. The saw cuts nicely and quckly thru branches up to 5-6″ no problem. The trimmer is sharp and works great on all of the ornate hedges I have to keep in shape.
here is the BUT… fully extended it does get heavy and awkward reaying on some good arm strength .
The saw and trimmer cant be used close to the handle like a normal chainsaw or trimmer so it makes just cutting a piece of wood or trimming something close to you difficult because there is a 3 foot distance always between you and the blades. Would be great if this unit allowed you to attach the saw/trimmer right next to the handle. So I still have to use a separate saw and trimmer to do close up work.
But if you DO have to work at longer distances I would stlll recommend this unit as an ADDITION to your other saws and trimmers

I used the pole saw the day it arrived. The included battery and battery charger worked quickly. Once the battery was fully charged I assembled the pole saw utilizing all the extensions (which were very easy to assemble) and cut branches for just over one hour and still had charge left on the battery. The motor that is mounted next to the saw gives it the weight that it needs to cut right through the limbs. You just basically have to hold the pole saw steady and it does all the rest. I cut 1 – 5 inch diameter limbs with ease. I love the pole saw. I have not used the hedge trimmer assembly yet but I expect to have similar results.

Para los que hablamos español aquí les dejo, si es para utilizarla en la casa, por uno mismo está muy buena, obviamente si esta en el negocio de corta de árboles no va a comprarla, la he usado hasta ramas de 3″ y corta bien, creo que la batería aguanta más de lo que podría hacer Yo en un día, la uso como complemento de otras herramientas de mano, más que nada por seguridad, después de cierta edad la habilidad para subir árboles no es la misma, las de gasolina muy escandalosas y muy pesadas, ocupan arnés, esta no!
