This product cleans with a pleasant taste that is not too favored by baking soda. It rinses well and leaves my teeth feeling like I’ve just had them professionally cleaned. It is thick and requires more effort to get it out of the tube than other toothpastes I’ve used, but that really helps in extruding the proper, pea-sized portion. This was purchased to replace my favorite discontinued Trader Joe’s toothpaste and it is a great substitute.

Close to original but slightly off with taste. Original had fresh mint and texture like baking soda, perfect blend. Like it has simpler ingredients.

I’m hoping that this reviews helps someone avoid wasting their money like I did. Unfortunately this is sold as a four pack- so there is no way to try this toothpaste out first (unless you can find it in a drugstore). I was a big fan of arm and hammer baking soda toothpaste growing up. I just felt that something about the baking soda made my mouth feel really clean and kept my breath fresh longer. However, I had always suffered from canker sores without knowing the cause. As an adult I discovered that SLS in toothpaste products was to blame. Unfortunately, that meant I had to give up my arm and hammer toothpaste. That’s why I was so excited to see the essentials line come out without SLS. After using this for the first time, I was really happy and remembered why I loved baking soda toothpaste- my mouth was very clean and true to its claim I felt my teeth looked brighter. However, I woke up with tons of gunk in my mouth that I instantly recognized as mouth tissue that had shed off. I ignored this and continued to use the toothpaste for two more days until the inside of my mouth was so raw/ sore that I could not continue. Curious as to what could be the cause of this (as I had not experienced this before with other arm and hammer toothpaste from years ago), I looked up the ingredients list to compare with one of the older formulations. This new essentials line has baking soda as the FIRST ingredient! That means baking soda is the ingredient that the toothpaste contains the most of. As compared to older other arm and hammer toothpastes that have baking soda listed as the fourth or fifth ingredient. Having baking soda listed as the first ingredient makes it too abrasive to use every day twice a day. A shame really. Had the potential to be a great paste. The packaging even states that if mouth irritation occurs, discontinue use. So they are aware of the problem and continue to push these out to the market anyway. Save your mouth. Save your money. Skip this.

I can’t find this toothpaste in my local stores and I am happy that Amazon carries it. I purchase it because it does not have SLS and other questionable ingredients. My teeth feel clean after using it and it all does taste fresh

Buy these toothpastes and they are great for sensitive teeth, plus their ingredients are not abrasive to your teeth. It’s the best toothpaste I’ve ever had.

Have been using for about six month. I have noticed whitening of my teeth. Nice taste and no harmful chemicals.

I have used this for years. SLS free and does have the needed floride to protect teeth. Floride is a must for teeth, you brush with it, you don’t eat it.

I bought this because there is no Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS), which tends to give me canker sores. I still get some, but not far fewer. As for how it works as toothpaste, I haven’t noticed any difference positive or negative so I’m happy.
