I’m waiting for the replacement set to arrive. I was able to try out the originals with one battery left in kit upon arrival and found the power great for cordless tools. I would recommend they ship these in an unmarked box though. I’ve had this problem before with Dewalt tools. Years ago I ordered a set and they came up missing at the terminal and the tracking just dropped out of existence. That yellow and black box is a dead give-away for anyone who wants great tools. This will be my umteenth set of Dewalt cordless tools and these are as good as the ones from the past. Being a former tradesman (prior to retiring) I used just about every brand available. And I kept coming back to Dewalt due to the durability and precision. After I retired I bought a set of Black and Decker tools and added to it over time to get a very large collection of their 18 volt tools. Their tools are great but the batteries didn’t hold up long, even brand new ones went bad in months. Black & Decker used to make Dewalt tools. Not sure how that worked out after B&D went belly-up and purchased by Stanley Tools a couple of years back. But Dewalt was always a step or two ahead of B&D in battery tek. Hopefully the batteries will perform well with this set. It is a big investment for me at this point in llife but if it lasts it will be money well spent. I like the bag over the hard plastic cases they used to put their tools in because it doesn’t take as much room. And I won’t mind replacing the batteries if I can get good use out of them.

I’ve been using these tools for over a year now.I have been very happy with all the tools in this kit up till this week. The recipocating saw started make loud noises and killing batterys very quickly the other day.So I took it apart thinking it needed some grease. What I found was that the gears stripped inside the housing. After doing some research I found that both the saws included in this kit are cheaper versions of the stand alone tools.Had I known this I probably would not have purchased this kit.The Flashlight and drill are great, Circular saw has a stamped baseplate instead of cast and the reciprocating saw lackes an adjustable foot, has a shorter stroke and has an inferior gear mechanism inside. If you are looking for a quality reciprocating saw stay away from this kit.

it was great except that the trigger on the hammer drill was broken and I had to gorilla glue it back on

This is a great value kit for the price.
The 3.0 Ah Li-ion batteries last phenomenally long, you could (likely)
complete an entire project on one battery and still have enough juice left
to, say, re-size your entryway…not that you should. The batteries also
last very long between uses due to the Li-ion technology.

Two things that I noticed in my using of this kit.
-The circular saw blade bolt does come loose if not properly tightened,
which can be hard to do without a proper sized wrench for the nut to
counter the bolt. This led to lack-luster performance (obviously).
The depth-of-cut with the circular saw also leaves something to be
desired..I had to adjust the depth set of the blade and
‘quad-cut'<–(cut on all four sides of the board) just to rip a pressure
treated 2″ x 4″ in half..so, use a miter saw or table saw for any boards
    over an inch thick.
-The drill required many adjustments to drive 2-1/4″ wood screws into
those pesky 2″ x 4″ ‘s due to all of the knots, otherwise very good drill.

One thing that surprised me was the flashlight. I originally did not want
this kit due to the flashlight being incorporated…because, let’s face it…
I’m waaaaaay too manly for a flashlight. But when the power went out,
and I had no more candles and I lost my portable flashlight, I was glad
I had it…The swivel head allowed for me to use my ceiling as a reflector
to illuminate my entire living room/kitchen.

    All in all GREAT BUY!

Got my sawzall out and the little plastic clips that hold the back of the battery broke off making the battery hold loosely and so the battery doesn’t connect. It renders the whole tool useless. The hammerdrill which I have used a bit more has a metal chuck that seems to bind upon itself, not closing tightly unto the bit and so the bit comes loose during drilling, VERY DANGEROUS, bloody knuckles!!

I truly love my DeWalt tools. The drill has replaced my 12+ year-old DeWalt 9.6V and has already seen hammer action drilling into concrete walls – they were no problem at all. The circular saw is light and very easy to handle as is the reciprocating saw. The light is extremely bright, so watch your eyes. The batteries last a long time, even under heavy loads. I used the circular for cutting hardy-board, which is like cutting thin concrete and requires a special blade. I could go through several boards and never run out of juice.

I’ve got my eye on the Jig Saw to add to my collection and have already added another battery.

The bag is so-so – it’s nice and big, but I don’t use it to store the tools. I’ve got much nicer tool boxes and I use padding to protect everything.

I recently purchased this kit and the sawzall heats up quickly and the motor slows down. The batteries don’t last, maybe 15 minutes of constant, full power use on a full charge. The kit doesn’t come with the belt clips and the sawzall included isn’t the four position that I’m used to. The drill has plenty of power but like I said the battery doesn’t last. The light is great as a search light, but sucks for work.

I returned the 20v kit and went back to the good old 18v dewalt kit that I kept as a backup.
