Actually a gift for my son’s birthday. I expect nothing but the finest tools from DeWalt and they have never failed to deliver. You can certainly find cheaper tools, but it’s always safer and smarter in the long run to stick with DeWalt!

It is handy, reliable, versatile and light enough for my wife to use it as well.

This is a perfect driver. Great size and lightweight. I use this thing more than my large Dewalt driver. Great buy too.

Okay, so the man’s old drill was basically ancient. We’re talking 20 years old and held together with duct tape and good intentions.
This drill made him happy. It’s got power, precision, and enough speed to make him feel like he’s in a DIY action movie montage. The 2-speed settings give him just the right amount of control for whatever project comes his way. Need to drill through wood? Done. Want to tighten screws faster than a speeding bullet? Also done. This thing is smooth.
The battery life is amazing, too. I thought we were going to need an extra charger, but nope—he’s been powering through his “to-do” list with ease, and the battery lasts long enough that I don’t have to hear him complain about it dying mid-project (which, let’s face it, is half the reason I got this).
In short: His old drill had seen better days. This one? It’s ready to tackle whatever comes next—and I’m ready to never hear “The battery is dead!” again.
Perfect Christmas gift for the man who’s not only getting things done but doing it with style.

we love DeWalt tools. My husband has many of their products, including this one. However, his drill recently died and needed a new one so we got this one for him for Christmas. I did open it up before we wrapped it for daddy and it looks like it is great quality, and works very well. Exactly as described and expected. Will hopefully post a second review once daddy uses it more after Christmas to make sure it is long-term quality like all of his other Dewalt tools.

Excellent Value! Needed a new drill as my old one is not what it used to be. The Dewalt does the job efficiently and quickly. So happy about this new purchase!

I’ve been using this drill every day since I got it almost 2 weeks ago, to drive 2 1/2″ and 3 1/2″ construction screws to frame out some walls.
The batteries have been lasting a good long time considering the use they’re getting.
Charging is quick enough that I haven’t had to stop and wait for a battery to finish charging.
The drill seems to have all the power and torque I need, although I haven’t tried using it for any heavy duty drilling yet.
I’m hoping it’ll be able to handle drilling holes with a paddle bit through a couple of 2x4s so I can run wiring without having to use an extension cord in a crawlspace anymore.
That’s been the one shortcoming of the Ridgid drill I’ve been using the past couple of years, and the biggest reason I’ve come back to Dewalt.
I did drop this drill from a stepladder, onto a concrete floor today, and it landed hard enough to send the screwdriver bit flying out of the bit holder. But when I picked it up and put the bit back in, it worked fine and hadn’t shown any damage.
As far as ergonomics, most of the cordless drills I’ve used over the past 10 years or so have been pretty comfortable to work with. This one is no exception.
The keyless chuck has been flawless so far. But I haven’t used it with any small drill bits yet.
I also really like the built in LED worklights. They work very well, and are located where they actually shed light on the project without being completely blocked out by your hands as you try to work, which is what always seems to happen with my old Makita.
I don’t care for the charger, which feels cheap and is a PITA to get the batteries in and out of compared to every other one I’ve ever used. And I’ve been using cordless drills a lot since the late 80s.
The other thing I’m not crazy about is the carrying bag that comes with the kit.
It seems to be sturdy enough. But I have to take the battery out of the handle to fit the drill into it. And it’s still like a puzzle to get my drill bits and the drill, charger and batteries in and get the zipper to close.
I’m happy that Dewalt does still include the bag with this drill kit, since some others don’t give you anything at all. But this bag would not have been my first choice for this drill kit.
First of all because it’s hard to get everything to fit into it at all, and also because you have to take everything out of it to find anything because you can’t see into it very well. Everything gets put together like a puzzle to get it in, which means it’s just as much of a pain to get it out.
It’s also an awkward shape that doesn’t allow it to fit neatly into my truck with my other drills.
I much prefer the flat rectangular drill bags that allow me to arrange everything easily inside the bag and then fit into a smaller space standing on edge.
In all, I’m very happy with the tool itself. And as long as the charger doesn’t crap out on me, I can live with the other minor inconveniences because the drill is a pleasure to work with.

Price was so good I thought for sure it was not going to be the brushless model. Pleasantly surprised it indeed was the good quality brushless motor. Great drill, nice weight and balance, holds a charge longer than others I’ve had. Great price on a quality Dewalt

Excelente.

The drill works excellent. The most important thing is that it comes with a charger so it makes working so much better. My biggest gripe against the dewalt was is it’s a little on the heavy side compared to other brands like Milwaukee or Makita, but it’s power was great.
