I have tried all the features and I can say with certainty that I really like working with this saw. I have used the splinter guard insert and also performed many plunge cuts (no pre-drilling). I have cut plywood, laminate, and metal (aluminum). Selecting the right blade for the job is an important consideration… I separately purchased a blade kit with a wide variety.
The main con of this design is the only way to adjust the cut depth is to use a different blade, which is typical of Jig Saws and not a fault of this product.
In general, for clean cuts, make sure to always cut a high speed without orbital enabled and pick the right blade.

I believe all of the Dewalt XR tools are of excellent quality and fit for purpose, this jig saw is no different. As of this one all of the tool set I have are the brushless variety so hard to compare with the brush version. Plenty of power, plenty of battery life. Be aware that this only uses the “T” style of blades. Everybody that makes the regular blades also makes the T blades so no big deal but I did have to buy a multipack so I had some different types. The very bright light on the blade is very useful.
I would buy this again and recommend to friends.

This saw is great. from the light of the saw blade to the ease of changing the blade, it was well thought out and put together. I am also a big fan of the 20 volt max battery system. The saws run a long time for cordless tools. Also I am going on five years with my original battery packs. I purchased the tool only and it came in the box, new.

Works good.l use the compact 4 amp hour batteries, need about 3 batteries if set up for constant cutting.Found that when I alternated with corded jigsaw, the skinny scrolling wood cutting blade had some time to cool off, not get as hot. When used alone, scrolling blade got too hot and turned blue.Jigsaw got warm, but kept cutting. The light is only for seeing cuts, not for a flashlight.

This combo kit works very well. They are comfortable to hold and the batteries hold their charge for sufficient time to complete jobs of a few hours. I’m going to purchase a couple 5amp batteries just in case. My only complaint would be the drill chuck which will spin loose the bit drilling metal unless you really torque it down. I’m very happy with both units. I haven’t used the charger yet. I plan on charging both batteries before my next project.

You MUST get one. I apologize for the OMG but first the price here on eBay was concerning to me. Being a tiny bit pessimistic I kept procrastinating on this purchase. The price was just too good to be true. Eventually I took the chance and I’m super pleased. The saw is 100% genuine.
In regards to performance, I’ve been utilizing the blade that came with the saw. I’ve experienced very little splintering. The light makes it easy to follow your line which results in a more accurate cuts. The 5 amp 20 volt battery also works on my drill, driver and my oscillating tool. That 5 amp battery however produces too much power for my driver and can send the screw too deep into the wood. I can go on and on but I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Although seller said it was new, when I received the saw the box had been resealed with clear tape. The saw appears new with instructions and all parts. I tested the saw and it appears to be new. I got it at a great price and the warranty is valid so I am overall pleased with the unit.
I really like how easy it is to remove and replace the blades. The saw is built like a tank and cuts effortlessly through most of the materials I threw at it.
This saw is very easy to use and it is cordless. On all my corded jigsaws the cord always got in the way of my cuts and I had to constantly get the cord out of the way. No longer an issue with the cordless jigsaw.
The unit is heavy but I find it holds true to the cut line so I think Dewalt has a winner.

I already own the deWalt battery platform so adding a tool wasn’t costly(tool only, no battery nor charger). I had received the 61/2 brushless circular saw as a gift from my daughter,,,,Woooowwh !! What a difference of cutting quality it is , so of course I decided to update to the brushless jigsaw..Same smooth high quality performance (no exaggeration ). I had never owned a brushless tool before the hand saw and jigsaw. This new version also works with the old 18 volt battery using a non-expensive adapter. My way of paying for my new tool was selling my old version 18 volt tools and buy this jigsaw. Great trade off.

Currently using the Dewalt DSC334B 20V during the construction of a pool deck to trim the deck boards going around the pool circumference. I have a corded Bosch jigsaw that works great but I wanted a cordless jigsaw as it is more convenient. I decided to go with Dewalt as I have other Dewalt 20V tools and can use the same batteries. The jigsaw has good speed, power and accuracy. Love the quick change blade mechanism and the fact the led that is lighting the work area flashes when the battery is low. Feels solid and has a good fit and finish.

Good, solid feel. This jigsaw is strong. Plenty of cutting power. Five stars. It’s a DeWalt.
