I haven’t used speakers for computer since in the 2000. I thought the sound quality would be bad like it was back then. I totally forgot how technology changes even though I’m tech savvy. lol I read the reviews and they seemed great especially about the bass. I was kinda skeptic but I thought I’d give it a shot. Boy, was I glad. The treble is good, it didn’t sound boxy. Even though there isn’t a subwoofer, the bass can be heard. The speakers are fantastic for what they are and their intended use. They are perfect.

Alright, let me start off by saying that i am NOT an audiophile. Unless something is terribly wrong with speakers/headphones, i’m most likely not going to notice. With that being said, I think that these speakers sound very nice, are really small and lightweight, and are also adorable in pink. There are a few things I would like to mention, however, as they aren’t huge irks to me but could be deal breakers to others. Firstly, as with most speakers, they have their own power source. This means they do not get power from your computer via USB or anything else via an aux cord, but rather by being plugged into the wall. This is by no means a bad thing, but because of the RGB lights and the way you turn up and down the volume, it means that if you have to unplug it for any reason it’ll reset all of your settings. It’s also kind of a bother to actually control things like the volume and the lights. I much prefer when the volume is linked to a knob that turns, but instead you have a switch somewhat akin to a TV remote, where you have to either hold it down or constantly click it to find your desired volume. The RGB is controlled by the same button that switches it between game and music mode, but you hold it down to switch the light mode. This means you have to slowly cycle through each light setting until you get the one you want. This is by no means a big deal in my opinion though, because you’ll most likely get the settings you want, leave them and never plug them in again. If you need to change the volume of something for any reason, you’ll probably just do it in the system settings or whatever application you’re using if it gives you the option. The settings are deleted when they’re unplugged, but not when you turn them off, so it isn’t a huge deal breaker. The only other thing I’d like to mention is that when turning these off and on, they have a little jingle that plays. Much like with turning a computer on, this is just something that bugs me. I wish I at least had the option to not have it make a sound when i turn them off or on. Overall, these are fantastic speakers for gaming, and I don’t think these small nitpicks are any reason to give them any less than a five star review. They come in many colors and are small enough to fit any setup, so if you’re in the market for some affordable speakers, get them ASAP!

SMOL BOIS! Holy wow, these are not very large. How do they compare to their larger siblings, and do they veer too far into “Gamer” territory forgoing decent sound quality?
TL;DR – Holy gads. These are amazeballs if Small = Life. A bit lacking in bass compared to the R1280T’s, but a very similar sound signature with some decent volume make these a great choice if you’re in the market for small computer speakers.
Packaging, Features, & Build – Graphics on a cardboard box, speakers wrapped inside in plastic bags with molded plastic inserts to keep them secure during shipping.
Speakers are permanently linked together by a single cable. They feature a 3.5mm In, a 3.5mm Sub Out, and a USB Input. The have a rear-facing bass reflex port, a full-range paper cone driver with rubber surround, and RGB LEDs with diffusers in each speaker. The cabinets feel pretty well built for a product of this size and price.
Sound – I tried these in my livingroom, paired to an Emotiva XDA2. What was immediately apparent was a lack of bass compared with their larger siblings, the R1280T’s. However, their sound signature is very similar. Like, they’re voiced so similarly it was noticeable. Like, I expect speakers to sound different, but these were very very close. They successfully filled my moderately sized living room with sound. I didn’t take them into distortion levels of loudness, but they got plenty loud for common media even in my living room.
I later tried them on my desk via USB. A bit more bass on tap here, image better as well in the smaller space. Again, sounds great. Gets incredibly loud on a desk, even via USB.
Conclusions – The RGB’s add a relatively cool looking accent to cabinets that already don’t look like every other speaker available. However, the cabinets still look enough like speakers to be recognizable as speakers, unlike some Logitech computer speakers.
I wasn’t expecting much, but I came away pretty honestly shocked about the sound quality, build quality, and connectivity options available for such a modest price point. They’re really dang good, and offer the ability to add a subwoofer for a cheap/small 2.1 setup on a desk later. Heck, the built-in electronics aren’t even bad. What more can you ask for?
