Amazing replacement for the factory hand cranks on my trailer from 1978

I broke my old landing gear and had to replace one side. Thinking about how it broke I decided to go with the two separate motors and replace both sides. Ordered from Amazon on Tuesday and got them at my door in Alaska on Friday, I was stunned how fast they got here. My old landing gear weighed quite a bit less than these new ones…even though their legs were a little longer. The U-F legs have welds that prevent the leg from accidentally sliding, my old legs did not. The short red and black wires coming from the motor are 14-16 gauge, but All other wires are 10 gauge. I used automotive connectors that use a flame to seal the splices that makes them water tight. They sent about 6 feet more of all four colored wires than I needed, so that was good. Instructions were dirt simple and installation of the first leg took about 15 minutes. I spent most of my time building a water proof box to install the separate switches (which took about a hour as I was very particular on how it turned out. My only Minor complaints is that the up/down switches are not marked for up or down, so I had a 50/50 chance of installing them in the orientation that I wanted and I got it right the first time. These motors seem more powerful each than my old 30 amp single motor. Finally, the installed grease zerts are a must on all jacks (I wish I had known that before the failure of my old legs). High quality, great instructions, prompt delivery…a perfect score!

It took two of us about 3 hours to install the new jacks and wiring, had to do some cutting on the 5th wheel pan due to the 5500 generator that’s crammed up against the jack location on the driver side with about 2′ on the passenger side. ( Now that’s engineering! )
We also trimmed the lower tabs of the Ultra-Fab jacks about 1/8″ to fit the trailers bracket locations, everything was pretty easy once we got started (NOTE: do one leg at a time with jack stands under main frame for safety) my helper guy placed the jack stand on the slide out patio rail and bent it! 😡 All fixed now.😎
OK, long story short, the crap jacks Keystone put on from the factory are just that! CRAP! They barely jacked the trailer up and most of the time didn’t! ( Maybe they should talk to Ultra-Fab! )
These new Ultra-Fab jacks don’t even sound like they are working hard at all, a little slow but very powerful! This is a great product!!!
I’ve been in the business of fixing other contractors screw ups for the past 34 years and I can say…Ultra-Fab is doing it right!
Not so much can be said about Keystone! Spend the money for a great product, they won’t let you down! 👍👍
    Thanks Keven Chino Valley, Az.

Replaced the single motor and shaft setup on our 2008 Montana Mountaineer with this dual motor gear. In my case no welding required, the tabs were in the right places. Installed them while connected to the truck. Switches took a while to mount only because I’m very particular about making it look as factory as possible.

  5. Justin D Pike

Ordered and installed these last year. Everything worked. Winterized and stored trailer. Wasn’t able to use trailer until now, a year later. Went to put trailer on my truck, one leg quit. Since installation, the leg has only traveled about 8 inches. I’d order from somewhere you would get better support than here.

I have a 2018 KZ Sportsman 5th wheel. I had the dual feet with a single motor to run both previously. This was a very daunting task for me. I thought it was going to be a major project and was a little intimidated by it. These bolted right in with no welding required. It was much easier than i thought it would be. Total time was 2 1/2 hours. Now that i have done it, i could probably do it in 1 1/2 hours. I would recommend getting an Atwood 3 button switch with this. The switches that come with it are ugly and bulky,

Way better than stock equipment nice to be able to work them independently

  8. William R. Hale

I replaced the factory lippert legs on my toyhauler with these. So far they seem to be working ok, I had to grind the mounting brackets down a little to get them to fit in, but they did slide in and they do hold and lift the trailer. The instructions are vague in that they say you need to grease these once a year, but it doesn’t say whether or not they come greased. They do not. It took several pumps from my grease gun to fill them up with grease. Also, while being greasable and having grease fittings is a nice touch, the grease fittings are mounted in the plastic motor housing and one of them popped out when I tried pulled my grease gun off.

The switches it comes with are a little bulky and they aren’t marked as to which direction is up or down (or extend/retract). Given their size, I wasn’t comfortable mounting them where the old switch was, so I put them in the compartment where my shore power cable goes.

Overall, a nice product and a good upgrade, and Amazon has the cheapest price too.

Application: 2006 Ragen 30ft Fifthwheel Toyhauler
These jacks are seriously amazing! It took longer to take the old jacking system (single motor-original system) out! These bolted right into our trailer with no adjustments needed. They are ten times faster than the older system! And the foot pads are larger as well. We also put the switches in a box to keep the weather and such off of them. They provide heavy duty wire with plenty of extra for switch placement. Highly recommend these!!! Well worth the money!!!

stetting up on the mountain 38 degrees out raining and blowing trying to load my trailer and the fuse holder lost contact inside took and hour one holding the fuse holder thogether because the little spring could not do its job great jacks just spoiled by junk fuses had to replace them with 30 amp breakes to unload. recomend you throw away fuses and put in self setting breakes
