I heard some good things about this saw, but when I got it I made a simple cut on a soft wood around a Inch and a half thick and it felt like the saw was going to fall apart. Now I don’t know if a NEW one would do better or if this is just the saw. As everyone knows to return a product to anywhere isnt made easy some I’m stuck with a saw and frustrated. Do your homework. The worm drive technology looks like a good idea but I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. And to be honest I didnt see the recondition on the ad so definitely look into that.

My 33 yr. old Skil 77 bit the dust,so for $100 I gave this Makita a try….For me ,this is a good transition from a 77. I’ve used this for a week now and it’s got power,good clean cuts,factory warranty.
