10 reviews for Makita XPH14Z 18 V Brushless Cordless Hammer Driver

Makita continue to make each generation of top end power tools more and more powerful. My last one was cutting edge about 4 years ago and was the point at which I stopped carrying a corded drill as back up, this takes it to another level and if it catches hold of an edge you need to be ready with both hands to hold it. and yet the size is comparable to a 12v machine a few years ago. It’s awesome and a genuine step forward seemingly in every way. Highly recommended.

It was a very good Drill. But ther habve juste one mistake, the snap to choose te hamer option is to near on the position regular. and it was to easy to flip on the mode hammer drill. But its works great.

very versatile, plenty of power, can tackle most projects. definitely has some heft so if you’re looking for something compact or light, this isn’t it.Despite that it’s comfortable to hold, the speed selector isn’t overly tight and trigger feels smooth with the right amount of resistance. Came new, new issues.

Powerful, compact, well designed and made. Extended handle helpful to control this drill’s remarkable torque and it’s easy to attach, in a variety of angles, and remove. Can handle a 4-inch hole saw without difficulty.

You won’t find a better Drill for the price. It has lots of power small and compact and just well balanced and feels good in the hand I have owned the XPH07 for many many years And it held up to all kinds of abuse And I still have it. just the Chuck went bad So I bought this drill rather than buy a new Chuck. I have absolutely loved my XPH07 It has been the best cordless drilI I’ve ever owned But this drill feels even better to me it’s a little smaller compact And has a little more torque than the xph07 So I would highly recommend the XPH14Z To anyone that wants a high quality tool that will hold up for many years to come

Second unit that I owned like this one. I like the heavy duty chuck and motor is strong running. the problem I had was when running drill under load at it’s limits the electronics stop working. Had it repaired once under warranty (part was covered labor was not) at a cost almost as much as new unit. Worked well till I did it again. This time I opted to get new drill and will try not to overload it again. I would like it if there was some sort of overload protection to prevent damage to drill.
