This makes quick work of removing fasteners. Plus sturdy enough to loosen manually in order to get them started. One downside is no torque adjustment. This is fine running fasteners into solid threads but will strip plastic and most screw plates with ease if you aren’t careful.

    the extended neck is great

I have used impact drills for setting bolts but sometimes the drills are too long to get into tight places. The size of the head of this allows one to reach and tighten or loosen bolts where you cannot use a drill or do not have the room to use a ratchet driver. It you can get a socket on the nut or bolthead, the ratchet does not have to move.

I love the speed of this and the extended reach head. I highly recommend.

I wanted a long reach 1/4 ratchet after my local popular tool seller’s product broke, and I could not obtain any replacement parts for it, even if I wanted to repair it myself. It came down to two options for me, either buy another one of those, with an extended warranty, or buy a product that probably won’t break in the first place.

Got it in, and have not looked back since. This tool has more raw speed than any other on the market, I believe it’s 450 RPM. The power is about average, but it will break off small 6mm bolts, so be careful. It has no speed or power settings to help prevent this, just your judgement. I believe it’s about 35 foot lbs of torque.

In my case, I was already in the Milwaukee system, with some other ratchets (not long reach), so that also helped the decision.

A word of advice to new users…this, nor any of it’s competitors are capable of much in the way of “break away” or zero RPM use for breaking bolts loose. You will usually have to break them loose by hand before using this, or (and I cringe saying this..) get a head start by spinning the tool up, and then applying it to the bolt/nut, a “head start” so to speak…not recommended, but it usually works.

Things I don’t like? I don’t like Milwaukee’s battery mounting system, I cringe when I see someone pushing/pulling on the very end where the battery pack goes into the body. It is not the most secure connection, and seems prone to damage from using it this way, so I avoid that.

It is noisy. If you are sensitive to loud noises, this wrench, at full power is NOISY. I use hearing protection.

It’s not the most ergonomic, it feels like holding a log. Not a huge fan of the lever power control either. This all is probably caused my my Makita cordless ratchet. Makita KNOWS ergonomics, and other tool makers could learn a lot from them!

All that said, it is one hell of a tool for what it does. That is why I still own it, and use it often.
