My eyesight is getting bad and seeing small holes is hard. This item helps me so much and makes me very happy. Even my husband asks to barrow it from time to time. This is the perfect item for sewers and beading and what ever craft project you do.

This tool is a god send. It is so helpful! It gives me a third hand to fix items. It was an excellent value and so worth every dollar! It puts a smile Oman my face every time I use it!

The alligator clips won’t hold up, nor are they easily replaceable with either better quality alligators or anything else. Specifically note, that what’s shipped is NOT the same as in the photo (what you get = alligators slipped over a knurled pin & held purely by friction, NOT held by a thumbscrew as depicted in the photo (item slipped inside a machined tube + thumbscrew), which is specifically why I ordered this unit.
    Hope this helps.
P.S. You can find the photographed unit for less money than this particular listing by vendors in the US (or at least their stock is).
    Hope this helps.

I’ve found this tool very helpful, and it’s got a great low price. It does have a couple issues: The stand relies on weight alone to hold it in place, the main shaft would be better with an additional inch or so, and the clips just barely reach each other. However, it still does the job, and I recommend it to anyone who is only going to use it for a random project here or there.

havent had time to use it yet but it looks good and has a good heavy base. for me i take the magnifiying glass off it hard to see through and in the way. and would suggest using some heat shrink tubing or some form of padding on the clamps so the sharp edges dont cut through the wire and leave any bare spots where it was holding the wires.

At first I hesitated buying this product, that old saying “you get what you pay for” .. did enter my mind BUT I’m so happy that I took a chance!!!!!
The product is a steal especially compared to other things offered on the market!!! I have jewlery for every outfit I own, and then some =) – I often have to fix or even repair my jewlery and found myself getting frustrated not being able to see it nor repair it and this product has now given me the ability to do wear some pieces of jewelry that I just couldn’t see to fix …
    I couldn’t ask for a better purchase!!!!

This is a very (third) handy tool. A good addition to any electronics tool box, along with a small coil of #10 copper(approx. 6″) wire with alligator clips attached to each end to be stretched and formed to any position you might need when the “Third hand” can not be used.

I used this new Helping Hand tool and I’m impressed with the quality of this well made craft tool! Will be using very soon and may need to buy a second one!
    Highly Recommend!

The product seems fine, I only wish the foot was a little heavier so it was more flexibility to move the magnafier and clamps around. But if moved to far out of center it falls over. At some point I will probably glue it to a little bit larger plate to it becomes sturdier.

What do you expect for 8 bucks? I expected junk but this actually works OK. PROS: The stand components actually tighten up pretty well and allow a sturdy platform to solder wire. I clamped the stand in my vise for stability CONS: There is no magnifier included as the title suggests, and the assembly directions are pretty poor. The alligator clips are sharp and will penetrate the wire insulation so I put some thick tape over the teeth and that resolved the issue.
