Only one persistent downside: head band size is a little large.
Other than that, these are probably the best headphones I’ve ever used. My previous Sennheiser pair was pretty decent, but these knock those ones out of the park in pretty much every way.
Overall (“+” for Pro, “-” for Con):
+ comfortable
– head band could be a bit smaller, but otherwise are really good
+ adjustable inner band for the head band is nice enough and prevents pain on top of my head
+ adjustable mic that works well enough for calls and has on-board mute toggle
+ bluetooth and wireless 2.4GHz can be used simultaneously
+ nice when calling from my phone while using my PC
+ USB-C charging is quite fast, and battery life long enough to last me a few days worth of my regular usage
+ standard 3.5mm audio jack for stereo input over a cable so I can use them even when they haven’t been charged in a while
– some times in a call on my PC (e.g via Discord), the headphones won’t register the audio going through them properly, so even though I’m in the middle of a call, the headphones might turn off unexpectedly as if I wasn’t using them
i. solved by playing some white noise in the background at a very low volume, but it would be better if this wasn’t an issue.
ii. I should note that I use Linux, so this may be a driver compatibility issue with the 2.4GHz USB dongle, but I’m unsure, ymmv
+ volume adjust independent of source device
+ if I’m unsure what my volume might be at, or what the volume of some inputs might be, then I can set the headphones themselves very low to prevent any really loud noises going into my ears
+ great audio fidelity and bass response (at least to my untrained ears)
Probably my most valued purchase of anything less than $200. Very much worth the money imo.

Bought to replace a Turtle Beach headset that my brother had from Xbox One and had given to me.
Set up:
The Nova 7X headset was easy to set up; simply adjusted the headstrap where I needed it, plugged the dongle into my Series X with the extension cable provided, and turned on the headset. Just make sure that the toggle on the dongle is set to Xbox for Xbox and USB for everything else (PC, PS5, Switch, etc.) The headset sounds pretty good out of the box, however, seem to be what I would call “tingy” without making adjustments on PC. After I connected to PC, I set up the headset using Sonar on the Steel Series software that’s free to download from their site, but I don’t think that translated to the xbox. What did, however, was the EQ settings because I set it to Bass Boost and it seems to have gotten rid of the “tingy” sound I was experiencing previously.
Battery life:
The battery life is phenomenal. I would say getting 38 hours or more is absolutely possible. I have had the headset for over a week now and charged it for the first time last night and it only seemed to take a couple hours to get to full charge. I was wearing the headset throughout the week watching youtube, playing games, etc. trying to get it to die. May vary from person to person as I typically work 9-10 hour days and worked 4 days last week while obviously not using the headset.
Microphone:
It’s a mic. My brother says that he can hear me more clearly than when I wore my previous headset, but it is a Steel Series mic, so take that with a grain of salt.
Features:
The volume and chat mixer rollers (volume on left ear, chat mixer on right) are recessed which is great for sitting back in a recliner or on a couch and not having to worry about volume getting messed with by previously mentioned furniture (which was a problem for me with the Turtle Beach headset that I upgraded from.) Power, Bluetooth, and Mute buttons respond well and do exactly as they are meant to. Mic retracts into the left ear which is great when you want to watch something and not have a mic in your face. The headstrap and ear cushions have been great in my experience. I wear glasses and the headset feels very comfortable despite this. (In contrast, the Turtle Beach headset kind of dug into and rubbed the top of my head during extended gaming sessions. I also felt the part of my glasses just above my ear getting pushed into my ear by same headset.)
Customization:
I like that the headstrap, ear cushions, and magnetic side plates can be swapped out. Not only for the customization of it, but also the longevity of being able to swap the headstrap and ear cushions in the event of wear and tear.
Weight:
Comparable with the Turtle Beach headset, but I’d say the Nova 7Xs are a bit lighter.
Conclusion:
I am really enjoying the Nova 7X headset so far and I would definitely say it’s an excellent choice for a headset, especially at $150 USD. Sound quality, battery life, and comfortability seemed to definitely be in mind when they designed this headset. It certainly feels like a lot of thought was put into this headset by Steel Series. Good job, Steel Series. I look forward to buying more of your products in the future, especially if this much thought of the user’s experience is put into them. 10/10. Amazing headset. Amazing experience.

Love Steelseries, was time to upgrade from my 4 year old $70 headset but even that one was very comfy, sleek, clear, and had a solid mic. The audio started to consistently cut out but I knew I wanted to stay with steelseries. I found myself having to take my controller to the kitchen a lot to check on my food and also found the wire in the way sometimes so I decided to go wireless this time. They only came in yesterday but my first thoughts are pretty good. Having both bluetooth and 2.4ghz is a nice touch, although the marketing insinuates you can connect multiple bluetooth connections. They mean that when you have the 2.4ghz usb-c adapter in your PS/pc, you can also connect your phone to the bluetooth. The headset is insanely comfy I have to admit. I have bigger ears so I was happily surprised when the headset comfortably went all the way over my ears. Although the ps5 controllers have mute buttons on them the headsets still offer their own mute button on the back of the left earpiece. On this headset the mic has a red led that will be lit if you are currently muted via the headset. In addition to the volume dial on the left earpiece, the back of the right one offers (I can’t remember their branded name for it) a voice relay dial so that you can hear yourself (adjustable). Personally I like this as it is built into xbox software but not playstation, nice to have it back for the people who like it. The earpieces have magnetic pieces that come off, I’m not sure if you can get custom ones to change the look? For the price, it’d be nice if the power on/off sounds didn’t sound straight out of the first bluetooth headphones but it doesn’t affect your gaming experience at all.
Random note that most probably don’t care about: I personally can’t get over how well the mic disappears into the headset. Other models still poke out a bit but it genuinely just looks like a regular pair of headphones when you tuck the mic away

The only thing I can say is that they are very comfortable. The sound is great!
