The product itself was a good product however it did not come with all the pieces to make it usable, Prior to purchasing I read some of the comments. One customer asked if it came with the crossbars as it was very vague in the description. The answer was that it did come with them. It did not. I requested a return authorization. It was granted however it was going to cost almost $200.00 in shipping costs, I elected to keep the product and purchase the crossbars from another company. Beware it does not come with crossbars.

I drive a 2016 Toyota Tundra. I was in the market for a rack and ultimately decided on this one after doing quite a bit of research. The THULE was my second choice, but because it required I take off the rail system in my truck I decided against it.

This rack is very sturdy. I felt like the installation was pretty straight forward. I would recommend anyone looking to buy this to head over to yakimatech.com first to ensure you’re getting all the needed parts. It’s true this doesn’t come with the cross bars. You’ll need to order those separately and you’ll want to know what size to get based on your yr/mk/mdl for your application.

This is not the cheapest rack out there. I’d have gone with the ROLA sold here on Amazon if it hadn’t been fixed height, as it also worked with the rail system, but I highly valued the adjustable height.

Do some research before making your purchase. If you’re not picky, there are definitely cheaper products out there. I knew i was picky and I ended up paying for it but I do not have buyer’s remorse. The quality is amazing on this rack. It’s very well built, it’s light. It comes off quickly if needed. It has bottle openers, tie downs, and an optional side-bar if you want that too. Overall, I would recommended this to others, but know what you’re getting because you’re not saving any money by picking Yakima.

The rack is very stout. You have to buy the desired setup in multiple purchases to include the supports, cross bars and side bars and its pricey. I got this to use for carrying kayaks with my truck, instead of putting them in the bed and taking up the room. The cross bars have a ruler on the bottom side that makes it easier to remove and put back without remeasuring everything. I initially bought 78″ crossbars but that is more than what’s needed for 2 kayaks, so I bought a set of 60″ crossbars and they are just right.

I am an avid kayak angler. So I’m usually hauling more than one kayak around. When I purchased a 2021 Jeep Gladiator, I knew that I’d need to get some sort of bed rack for kayak transportation. I also need it to set up high because I’m often towing and camper or boat. Before the Jeep, I have used several other Yakima Roof Rack products (Ridgeline Towers and Baseline Towers) and have been satisfied with the performance and durability of these systems. So the Yakima OverHaul HD was a no-brainer for me. I’ve had this bed rack installed for several months now. It has met all expectations; easy install, tough, strong, customizable in height, zero wiggle and low road noise. It’s a great option for hauling kayaks!

This is a compromise on a rack. I am contracting and this is used only on a truck that does trailers. I can remove it to run a fith wheel. New trucks have weak beds and a heavy work rack isn’t going to work on them like the older models. My 2003 is tougher for day to day. The new one with this rack is light duty. Good for a ladder or boat. Easy to remove.

The truck rack is very sturdy and was pretty easy to install. My 2003 F150 had kind of a curved bed and the space to install the brackets took a little thought to install. The spacing between the rails had to be flipped around to reduce the spacing for my Thule roof tent but with a little patients it worked quite well. BUT FOR THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY AND NO CROSS BAR….EVEN A STANDARD LIGHT DUTY ONE COULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED. $272.00 MORE FOR A HD MAKES THIS RACK NOT A GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY. YAKIMA SHOULD BE WAY MORE TRANSPARENT ON THE LACK OF A CROSS BAR. MY FRIEND ALSO BOUGHT A SIMILAR RACK FOR HIS NEW FORD RANGER AND FOUND OUT CROSS BAR NOT INCLUDED. WHAT A SHAME.

Don’t Buy. Yakima carries no spare parts for the HD Racks (Overhaul, Outpost). I bent a bolt (j-clamp/hardware # 8881008) on a $1300.00 Overhaul Rack during an outing and neither the dealers nor Yakima have any spare parts, although they advertise spare parts on their website.

Called Yakima Customer Service and he was useless, saying too bad your out of luck there’s no spare parts for the HD racks.

Bought the “system” when someone sells you a “system” you know your getting ripped off. Did not come with cross bars. What good is a rack with just 4 uprights. Could have just put a table in my bed upside-down. Over priced junk

I love this thing. Put it on my 2018 f150 crew cab with the 5.5 bed with the retrax pro tonneau. Was able to purchase it when yakima had a sale which made the price much more reasonable. Very sturdy and relatively easy to adjust the height. Have carried 6 4x4x12 lumber without issue. I adjust it up when i need to carry longer things, but keep it mostly at the lowest setting. Love how it looks on the truck especially with the sidebar attachments. Everything seems very sturdy and very well made.

  10. Amazon Customer

Great rack but you pay for the quality. Love Yakima stuff. This shipment probably got stolen in transit. It showed getting to Louisville but never traveled beyond the hub. Yakima stuff is great so someone may have helped themselves. I hope Amazon got a resolution. I got reimbursed. The racks are hard to get with even Yakima being out of stock. I ended up going to a local dealer and paying a couple bucks more for an in stock item. Love the local dealer and love Amazon for taking care of me. I just hope no one takes it off my truck. It comes with locks but I’ll see if how much of it can be removed.
