We already had two Ryobi batteries for lawn tools. We wanted this more for lights and charging phones during cold weather power outages, when the batteries won’t be used anyway. We tested the device with some Christmas lights and it worked great!

This things works pretty well. It holds two batteries providing twice the power as one.

The power output is stable and does not fluctuate in the least. That is so important when it comes to sensitive electronic devises you might hook up to it.

It has several USB ports so you can connect devices to it. It’s limited to 3, but they are. All in all it’s a decent product.

I own some other battery power stations, and one of them stopped working because the battery died, then I thought wouldn’t it be nice to have a power station that you can easily replace the batteries when they come to the en of their life? And here was my answer, I own several Ryobi 40V tools so I have a bunch of 40V batteries laying around, this inverter lets me use those batteries to power things of up to 350W, and the best thing is that if a battery dies I can just buy a new battery and do not have to throw away the whole inverter as it was the case with the other one I owned, such a waste to have battery power stations where you cannot easily replace the batteries when they come to the end of their life.

I ordered this inverter to be able to power some lights in my trade show booth on the go. I really appreciate that this is much more lightweight than hauling a larger power supply with me. I also love that it has USB ports so I don’t have to go searching for a power brick. Great functionality and absolutely perfect for what I needed.

This device allows you to power devices other than your power tools and leaf blowers. It requires at least one Ryobi or Ryobi knock off 40 v battery, but has room for two. Very lightweight and easy to move in and out of your camping space, RV, or from room to room.

Important: This does NOT come with batteries, you’ll need to purchase those on your own and they cost about $50 (minimum) each. I prefer to use this with two fully charged 40 v batteries. When one starts to die, the unit automatically switches to the other.

Since this is only 350 W, it won’t run larger appliances such as refrigerators and freezers, washers, etc. It SHOULD easily run those electric car and camping coolers, charge your tablets and cell phones, run a lamp or two, small TV, laptop, small fan, coffee pot, and any other appliance that uses less than 350 watts.

This inverter has a small enough footprint that you can keep it inside a closet or cabinet for use in power outages. This isn’t a generator, per se, but it’s something that could help you in a short-term situation.

A little plastic-y and doesn’t feel as substantial as I would like. However, that’s probably due to them wanting to keep it as lightweight and portable as possible. A real generator tends to be HEAVY!

Comes with one USB-A Port, 1 USB-C Port, and a handy 300 lumens light. Has features to keep it from overheating if you try to plug in something over 350 watts.

It’s a great idea for a product but poorly executed. My Ryobi 40v batteries do not fit this right. They slide in but the only way to get them to lock into place is to REALLY slam them in, I felt like I was going to break it when I did as it is cheaply made. Once I did get them in the device would only turn on half of the time or would shut down a few minutes after use (yes the batteries were fully charged). I kept having to take the batteries off and try again. It was acting like it wasn’t making a good connection. When pulling the batteries out they didn’t come out smooth, rather it felt like plastic pieces that shouldn’t fit together and were being unjammed apart by force. Not a product I trust at this point and will be returning it.

I have the ryobi inverter and this thing isn’t bad for a fraction of the cost. The fact you can put two batteries on it is even better. Pulls power as it should and the light is a nice touch. Great item!

  8. unclemymy

I have a Ryobi electric lawn mower, but when I turned my yard over to a lawn service, my battery just sat around with no use. This is the perfect accessory, as I can now use my (expensive) battery to power most anything. In the photos, I’m powering an ordinary 120v house lamp. The inverter also provides a light with three brightness settings – plenty of light! There are USB charging ports also. A separate switch to turn the inverter on and off is a good feature, in addition to a power switch for the whole device. Well worth the asking price.
