I’m extremely satisfied with the ones I got; they feel very high quality, yet they aren’t heavy or bulky. Perfect for small to medium sized hands and they will feel familiar to anyone who used an Xbox controller before.
Connectivity is simple using both the included dongle or Bluetooth, the battery lasts for an incredibly long time, and they charge fast and using USB-C. The thumb sticks are extremely precise and have basically no deadzone and no drift. The triggers have a shorter throw than I would prefer but they feel very nice as well. The rest of the buttons have a very snappy and satisfying feeling. I can’t evaluate the d-pad as I don’t play many games that are heavily focused on it. The vibration motors are also very tight feeling and strong.
As for negatives, I don’t have much to say, and especially not any that would offset the positives. That’s not even considering the aggressive pricing compared to other controllers. I’m very satisfied and already pondering buying yet a few more. If I had to point out something negative it would be how poorly communicated the extra features are. There’s basically no documentation included either in the box or on the website itself. In fact, a few features from older models (like 0 deadzone setting) are present but you wouldn’t know unless you actually looked online for how to activate them. The software could be more comprehensive.

This controller has performed well in the short time that I have had it, with precise,drift-free magnetic sticks and LR triggers. Build quality is solid, the controller feels neither too heavy nor too light, and all the buttons feel responsive and clicky. It connects seamlessly via the included dongle, USBC cable, and Bluetooth, which is perfect because I will be using it to control various robots. The ultimate 2c is not only the best value controller I’ve found, it is even very easily disassembled and serviced. There are four easily spotted t6 screws in the back, and a few small phillips screws after prying open. There are no soldered wires inside. Everything including the rechargeable battery, back and menu buttons, and two rumble motors is connected with either a plastic connector, small header pins, or contact pads on the PCBs. The only nitpicks I have with the construction are the black conductive pads under the abxy buttons and between the main pcb and and back buttons, as this can wear down over time or possibly lose continuity to the back buttons, and that the controller lacks a place to store the 2.4ghz dongle. Overall, I think this is a great controller, and would recommend it.

Took ages and kept getting delayed, but with the dongle it hooks up instantly and works very well. Did not try without the dongle but apparently that’s an option too.
Super solid, not sure how long battery life is but worth the price and wait.

Got it for my sister as an early Xmas present few weeks ago, she loves it. Arrived quickly.

After 3 weeks of light use, I have to change my review. The joystick “stickiness” I mentioned became worse over time, to the point that the left joystick feels as though it clicks into position when I move it to 12 o’ clock.
My best guess is that the plastic construction can’t withstand “moving forward” in a video game. After a few hours of use, something will wear down and cause the joystick to become unusable. There is no physical damage to be seen — just a joystick that feels awful to use. I’m so disappointed. Perhaps if there was an improved model in the future I would be willing to try it. Perhaps ring the joysticks with metal? And add gyro? This controller was so promising.

Below is my original review.

I highly recommend this controller for users who don’t need gyroscope. This has worked with every PC game that supports controller. Vibration features don’t work with Sony PC games, but that’s likely a choice by Sony.
Pros:
-The USB dongle is seamless and instant. Love that it can be wired and Bluetooth connected as well!
-Comfy! A little smaller than modern Xbox and Sony controllers, with an Xbox layout. It doesn’t feel cheap.
Cons:
-The seams and grippy texture collect dirt and grime quickly.
-No gyroscope, which is unfortunate when you realize how common gyro is in games nowadays.
-Joysticks can get temporarily stuck in position if you’re generating a lot of heat/being too aggressive.

It does everything you need it to and more. Bluetooth/wired/2.4Ghz wireless, programmable turbo buttons, no drift in joysticks, rechargeable battery, comfortable, well built, and a killer price. If you’re gaming on PC or Android this is the controller to get.

I was already using and enjoying the 8bitdo Ultimate C controller as a solid, inexpensive alternative to the Xbox ones, but sadly I started getting some drift in the right stick. Fortunately 8bitdo just happened to have released this newer version, which adds a few more programmable buttons (that I don’t really need), a grippy texture that’s a bit less coarse (one of my complaints with the original Ultimate C), and Bluetooth support (nice to have for other devices, but the dongle was already fine for my PC). But the real reason to upgrade was that the Ultimate 2C has Hall effect joysticks, so drift shouldn’t be a problem in the future.

As somebody who has been gaming since the 80’s and been through countless gamepads, this one passes all of the tests for me. Ergonomically, it feels great in the hands, it’s lightweight, comfortable, and none of the components feel cheap.
Moving over to the Steam input test, the analog sticks and triggers are extremely accurate with practically no dead zone and every tiny movement registering. And they will never drift thanks to the Hall effect technology, which is a huge deal and lacking in many even more expensive pads. The dpad feels amazing and registers practically no false inputs when rocking back and forth. Confirmed with Super Mario Bros: Mario turns on a time, never ducks when he isn’t supposed to, and there is zero lag. Confirmed with Super Mario 64: every slight movement of the analog stick is detected and Mario sneaks with ease. I’m not exaggerating when I say I don’t think Mario 64 has ever felt this good. To test input lag, the Punch-Out!! test: no discernible lag and plays how it’s supposed to. I use these games to test pads specifically as I do a lot of retro emulation, but modern games will of course work just as good.
The other bells and whistles are also great. The turbo functionality is easy to use and does what it’s supposed to. Mapping buttons to the L4 and R4 buttons is equally easy. I know others are complaining that there is no 8bitdo Ultimate Software support or controller profiles, but do you really need it when it’s this quick to map what you need to? The vibration motor is strong. The only thing this controller is missing is gyro support, but being that gyro isn’t a part of the x-input standard, it wouldn’t work in Steam even if it did, so no real biggie at the date of this review. It’s nice looking and the metal around the sticks is great so they don’t shed plastic.
Overall, this pad is easy to recommend for the price. The component quality might even be better than some of the first party offerings, proving just how much they are overcharging us and how outrageous it is that they still haven’t moved over to Hall-effect analog sticks. Great job, 8bitdo.
