The first thing I noticed when I opened the bottle was the very strong scent. Overwhelming is an understatement. This product is composed mainly of different plant based oils (I count 17), so the scent is very herbal/flowery. I can’t really pinpoint exactly what, but it is too much for me. I put 2 moisturizers over this to try to cover up the scent, and I could still smell it! I used it once and I can’t bring myself to use it again.
I was surprised when I dispensed this product from the bottle because it’s an oil. I haven’t used any other product that calls itself a serum that is oily like this. Again, considering the ingredients, I shouldn’t have been surprised.
The oil is yellow/orange, so you will probably notice a small tinge in your skin if you are very pale or you use too much of the product. I washed my hands with soap after applying and the drops in the sink were yellow.

I was excited to add this serum to my skincare routine, especially since my skincare routine heavily includes acids and other exfoliants, toners, and the like, but I’m not really keeping up with a moisturizing serum. I changed my mind after using this faithfully for a few weeks, and even after that I’m continually enjoying the benefits of using this serum every day.
I’m in my early 40s, but smoked a few packs of cigarettes in my early 20s, and generally my health could be better, but I noticed a texture of sorts building up on my skin, congestion, ingrown hairs on my chin. I’m not hormonal, but it is a fact that I’m aging. I upped my acids and physical exfoliants but I was still missing something after all the acids that brought balance and calm to my skin, while encouraging healing and health.
This serum has an oily feel to it, and smells a bit like Sea Buckthorn oil. It is not very viscous. It is actually a bit runny so I pump it into the palm of my hand and dip a clean fingertip in to tap lightly on my face. It smells like Sea Buckthorn oil, too. Not in a bad way, I love the natural, vibrant scent it has, but it could possibly be a drawback for some because it’s a bit strong.
I used this after my exfoliation, about an hour afterward to give my skin time to breathe between each “phase.” I used it for three weeks, twice a day, once in the AM and once in the PM.
Immediately the oily serum absorbed into my skin, it doesn’t leave a residue but my skin is a bit tacky after a good ten minutes of letting it sit.
After three weeks my congestion was nonexistent, my fine lines around my eyes weren’t as noticeable, and no ingrowns even with regular dermaplaning. Another month or so later and I’m feeling more confident without makeup; the circles under my eyes aren’t as dark either, but I did also start a collagen routine within that timeframe, too, so that’s something to take into consideration.
This product is a full luxurious five stars for me, it does what it says and more, but it truly did bring what I can call “balance” to my facial skin.

This face serum came packaged in the most spectacular way. I will preface this by saying I am blessed with good skin and rarely suffer from breakouts or irritations from products. Along with that, I don’t really have anything to “correct” with facial products, just trying to stay ahead of the aging game. With that out of the way, I do find that this product leaves my skin looking really dewy and moisturized. I wasn’t sure how to feel about the rubbing into wet skin, as that’s not something I have to do with other products, but it seems to work. The auburn color was a little startling at first, but it doesn’t seem to leave my skin tinted in any way. All in all, this product has worked well for me but I can’t determine if the cost is worth it for everyone as everyone’s skin is different! It’s been a win for me, though!

This is the first product that I’ve tried by the brand May Lindstrom Skin. First off, the packaging and presentation was stunning and had a wonderful personal touch! It was quite an experience just unwrapping this serum.
The product itself is a high quality, well-balanced, oil based serum. The pump bottle is a big plus. It’s easy to dispense exactly the amount you want/need. The serum is a yellowish brown in color which made me wonder if it would tint my skin. It didn’t.
This serum feels great on your fingers and it goes on like silk. It’s a bit on the heavy side for a serum, but it absorbs well into the skin. It instantly brightened the look of my dull middle-aged skin and gave me a dewy, nourished looking complexion. It worked fine under my liquid foundation.
With everyday use over a month’s time my skin is noticeably more hydrated and has a nice glow. I didn’t notice much difference in fine lines, but it’s only been a month. A great perk was that I didn’t feel the need to add a moisturizer on top of this serum. The serum itself was enough. The ingredient list is also impressive. It’s organic, vegan and packed with essential oils and botanicals with no parabens or other artificial ingredients.
If I’m being totally honest, I don’t love the scent. It’s very strong due to essential oils and to me it’s slightly off-putting. It could be an irritant for those with sensitivities. However, I did not experience any irritation or redness using this product. I’m also not in love with the price. It’s rather expensive compared to other products I’ve used that produced similar results. That coupled with the strong fragrance is the reason why I took off one star.
